Today’s mindfulness activity is aromatherapy. I gave each students a cotton ball with a few drops of essential oils such as lavender, sandalwood, peppermint, rose, and bergamot, chamomile, and frankincense. Recent studies have shown the aromatherapy can have a positive effect on student learning. The different scents have a calming effect that helps students manage their emotions and focus on learning.
Studies have also shown that using aromatherapy can help with reduce anxiety, pain, depression, insomnia and improve mood, fatigue, concentration, memory and decision-making.
