Mindfulness Monday: Butter Slime

I received a student request to make butter slime so Maddie and I did the prep work to make it happen. Since mixing the ingredients can get messy, Maddie prepared the slime base ahead of time. This video demonstrates how to prepare the slime and then combine it with the air dry clay to get the “butter” effect:

What you’ll need: white glue, lotion, foaming hand soap, Borax and water mixture as activator, and air dry clay (any color).

This activity is an example of sensory mindfulness or the active practice of engaging and focusing fully on our senses. Sensory mindfulness has been scientifically shown to help regulate our nervous system and improve our overall well-being. If you are able to try this activity, let me know how it goes!
